This ride is an extended version of the B-1, Quinara loop. It extends some 10 km further south and passes another pass of nearly 2000 m on the way to Yangana, then returns along the Rio Yangana-Valley and joins the Quinara-loop near the town of Quinara.

Route: From the Bus Terminal, head south along the new Highway, past the Barrio Izhcayluma. The road ascends 6.3 km and 440 m to the Lambunuma-pass at 2000 m, then descends towards Masanamaca. At the bottom of the descent, you find the turnoff to Quinara on your right, and some 500 meters later, we pass the Hamlet of Masanamaca. 2 km out of Masanamaca, you pass the Estoraques (earth sculptures) of Suro, some strange mushroom & pillar shaped earth structures. The highway now ascends 270 meters to another pass at nearly the same height as the Lambunuma pass we crossed before, then drops down to the little town of Yangana. Past the town square on your left, the highway makes a 90 degrees left turn, where you have to keep strait onto the gravel road dropping into the Rio Yangana valley. Winding along Rio Yangana, and after passing the hamlet of Elvira, you cross a small wood bridge and soon after, the valley opens at the barrio of Comunidades to join the valley of the Piscobamba River. Soon the road swerves to the right and crosses Rio Masanamaca on a concrete bridge, where it joins the Quinara road near the big gravel mine. Turn left and after 3 km, you reach the laid back town of Quinara in the Piscobamba-valley. After another little ascend, you enter a lovely green valley, contrasting with the normally brown western slopes of the Mandango-massif. 4 km after Quinara you will pass the little village of Masanamaca. 800 m past Masanamaca, in the hamlet of El Sauce, you could alternatively take the old road to Linderos on your right, (As lined out in Hike D 5.0) but we follow the road along the Rio Piscobamba to the barrio Moyococha, where you find a nice swimming spot at the river. 1.5 km past the swimming spot you pass the hamlet of Solanda. Between Solanda and the next hamlet Santorum, you pass a small unnamed pass of 1485 m. From this little pass we descend to the Rio Vilcabamba-valley. Along the valley, the road climbs gently past the barrios of Linderos, Cucanama bajo, Cucanama alto back to the Vilcabamba-Loja road, where we turn right, back to downtown Vilcabamba.
